Recently, we had the pleasure of contributing to the transformation of a newly established tech-sector office in downtown Toronto — a vibrant, forward-thinking workspace perched above the harbour, with views stretching out over the lake and clean, open air streaming in.
The brief was clear: inject the space with greenery and warmth, without the commitment or maintenance of living plants. This was a company that doesn’t shy away from colour or bold design choices, and the office itself reflects that — uplifting, energetic, and fun. What it needed was a touch of nature to balance the dynamism, without introducing daily upkeep.
Working closely with their in-house designer, we sourced a selection of high-quality, artificial trees — each with real wood trunks for authenticity and topped them with black river stones. The planters were purchased at CB2 and a handful of trusted Ontario-based vendors we’ve proudly supported for years.

These pieces weren’t just decorative; they were thoughtfully placed to create several green “moments” throughout the office — subtle yet impactful cues that invite calm and offer visual reprieve amidst the bustle of the workday.
One of the highlights was our work in what the team affectionately dubbed their “California Room” — a space with a relaxed, beachy feel and a bohemian aesthetic already in play. There, we hand-crafted a bespoke trailing vine and succulent window box display, mounted just beneath the screen where team meetings are held. It adds a playful touch of character — a little West Coast charm in the heart of Toronto.
A key design challenge was the expansive industrial ceiling — impressive in scale but in need of visual softness. To draw the eye away from the exposed ductwork while celebrating the lofty proportions, we custom-designed ceiling grates adorned with trailing vines and installed them directly above the executive boardroom table. The result is a dramatic yet cohesive focal point — one that subtly unites the office’s design language while bringing a sense of life to the overhead view.
In every detail, the space reflects a clear priority: the wellbeing and happiness of the team. And while the trees may be artificial, the atmosphere they help create is entirely authentic — warm, welcoming, and full of vitality.
